Podcasting and communication developmentPodcasting.html

Research undertaken as MA dissertation via Ultralab, 2004. This compares the use of Interactive Whiteboards and Desktop computers with integral touchscreens by pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties.

You can see two of the original videos for yourself, along with videos which summarise the findings. There are also key PDF documents from the written dissertation.

Informal research undertaken over 2006, to look at how the use of Podcasting might support the language development of children with significant speech and communication difficulties.

You can listen to the original unedited vocal recordings, along with the edited versions, spread across the year, to compare the development of the pupils. There are also PDFs showing the pupils’ own comments on their performance, and a summary of the findings.

Virtual Learning Environment

I’ve been researching what commercial Learning Platforms provide a VLE that is accessible for people with cognitive learning difficulties, which hopefully makes good use of the kind of tools that have emerged with web 2.0.

It’s not exactly good news - click here to see the report.
